my invitation woman said that they rarely write on inner envelopes anymore and that everything goes on the outside one. hope that helps

YES!! Its ok to do anything. What is the big deal about it, I don't get it. Sorry, didn't mean to take my frustration out on you! I know all the etiquitte books say you shouldn't but come on, who really cares?

No, i wouldn't. It goes on the inner envelope. That is what my calligrapher said.

If you're not doing the inners, then yes, put it on the outside envelope.
When I picked up my invites, they said that usually, you're supposed to put the 'and Guest' on the inner, because the Guest does not live at the address, and the inner envelope is supposed to let them know who is invited. The outer is just to get it to the address, but with a lot of people not doing the inners, it's become more acceptable to have it on the outer.
Am I making *any* sense at all? I feel like I'm rambling. LOL

I don't know the 'proper' thing to do, but I didn't put 'and Guest' on the outside. I left that for the inner.

I don't have inners either so I'm writing everything on the outside.
plus all the wedding invites i've ever gotten have had 'and guest' on the fronts. No biggie...who's really looking at the outside of the envelope anyways? Its what inside that matters
