I have decided (for now! haha) to do canary yellow bm dresses. Do you think canary yellow would go well for a July wedding? Also, do you think canary yellow (bright) would look nice in pictures? I love bright yellow but I haven't seen a lot of pictures of BM dresses in that color!

yellow is definitly a summer color, so i think itd look great! i was thinkin of the same color for my april wedding too... but decided on a deep violat instead. i think theres apretty yellow dress by jim hjelm ... maybe check out the website! GL!

I LOVE yellow, that's what I originally wanted! It happened to not go with any of my bridesmaids' complexions and they weren't too thrilled with the idea so I decided to keep them happy. Plus, have you gotten your dress yet? If not, I'd wait until then. I thought I was going to get a very 'crisp' dress - white with ruching, and that yellow satin would look awesome - and bold - with it. I ended up with ivory, lace, and more old-fashioned, so that also contributed to the change in bridesmaid dress colors to something softer.

Canary yellow will look great, but only if all of your girls are olive or dark toned. Yellow doesn't really look too great on pale-skinned people. JMO.

I love this color!! I think it's PERFECT for a July wedding! Melissa Sweet/Priscilla of Boston has a beautiful yellow color! It's not bright yellow like Laker yellow, but it's sunny and gorgeous! One day when I was there, there was a bridesmaid picking up her dress. It was my same dresses but in that yellow color. I thought it was Sooooo lovely.

agree... if your girls are pale, they will look washed out. Yellow is one of my colors as well! Love that color Haven't decided if I am going to have the girls wear yellow. I may have them just wear black dresses and have thhe flowers be yellow.

I'm pretty pale and I like yellow. I don't wear it too often, but as long as it's the right type of yellow, it won't wash you out just because you're pale. Check with your girls, have them EACH try on the dress before you make a decision.

I agree that yellow can wash you out if you're pale. I am very fair and never wear yellow because I think it makes me look sick. Maybe you could choose different shades of yellow that look good on different complexions? I think it is perfect for July.

we wore canary yellow for my friends wedding and we were all not happy about it because we are all pale skinned....but we all just ended up doing spray tans for the wedding so it didnt look bad.
however, i will say to be careful with the fabric you choose. Yellow can look beautiful if its a soft fabric like chiffon or something. The dresses we wore were taffeta so the yellow looked way to harsh and shiny...it didn't look the best. I think if we had worn the same color in a different fabric it would be beautiful.

Yello yes but ask your paler girls to get a tan or it will wash them out I am talking from experience.

Thank you so much for the info and opinions girls! I am not sure of complimentary colors yet- there is just so much you can do with yellow! A few of my bms are a bit on the fair side but have dark hair and will hopefully have a bit of a summer tan by then- if not I don't think they would mind doing spray tanning (I hope!) But I am definitely going to take the advice of having each of the girls try the color on just to make sure.
Any nice color combos that anyone can think of with yellow? =)

I loveeeeee canary yellow!!!
Purple flowers would look amazing with the canary!! Or even sunflowers because they will be a darker yellow than most canary dresses.

My girls wore canary yellow. It's such a bright, happy color, and perfect for summer. While I agree that your girls should try the color on, I think that should hold true for any color, not just yellow. My sister was quite fair, and I think the yellow looked great on her. Actually, it was because of the way she looked in the yellow dress that made me pick it; she tried on a few different colors as well. As for flowers, I kept it very simple and just used white daisies but I think orange and bright green would be awesome too!

an 08 bride used yellow dresses but I dont think she still has a profile on here anymore........it was an april wedding (i think) and it was very pretty with the yellow dresses
