Has anyone cancelled a booked vendor? If so, did you write a formal letter, cancelled by phone or in person?
I'm cancelling and replacing 2 of my vendors
Any advice is appreciated.

if you call or do it in person, so yourself a favor and follow up with something in writing. and if you send it to them send it certified so they have to sign for it....

I would either call or send an email. Make sure you read your contract before just in case they have language that they want to sue. Most importantly do not lie.

will the alien beam you by satelite.
if they are vendor on here I would have the precaution of lying because you know they read these boards and throw it in your face. (losers) I had to cancel a vendor .

Re: Canceling a vendor
They said I had to go in person. So I went in and they tried to convince me by taking $ off the amount and I still said No and canceled so I signed paperwork, and they took the money we had already paid and gave us a credit so thats how we got our invites, pillow, basket, guestbook,, and pen set.

Re: Canceling a vendor
I never had to do this but it's important to cover you a$$. Go in person and then send a certified letter stating that you saw them on such date and cancelled their services and ask them to sign to confirm that this is formally cancelled if they do not offer anything in person.

Re: Canceling a vendor
the only advice i have is to JUST DO IT! It is MUCH better to cancel (whichever way you decide) than to leave a vendor hanging! It doesnt matter what the reason is or if you feel you need to lie it doesnt matter its better that you tell them and save your butt AND theirs than waiting longer and longer to make matters worse. good luck!!

Re: Canceling a vendor
It depends on if you've given them a deposit, I know you have to call, I would definitely write a letter that way you having something concrete in writing, and check to see what the cancellation policy is as far as getting any deposits back, if you've left one.

Re: Canceling a vendor
I've left a deposit with both vendors and in both contracts its states that they will give you a credit or close to 20% refund if they can re-book the date.
I'll take the deposit as a loss....just debating how to best break the news.....I definately have to write a letter
