so I spoke to the BM at stuart Thomas telling her I wanted to cancel my event there (since I got my new venue WM woohoo!) however, she wrote me an email telling me to just simply write her an email stating that I am canceling my event.
Is that how is suppose to be? I actually prefer going to the place...

Are you getting your deposit back? Or are you losing it? I would ask for a copy of your contract to show that it's void now.

THIS! Make sure you have a canceled contract, but in writing online is good too, so you will always have proof of her 'cancelling' and approving a refund.
