Has anyone had experience with this? I have contacted the RH I booked with (CLM) and written them multiple letters requesting a refund of my deposit minus the $100 booking fee and have gotten no response. I have contacted BBB as well now and still have heard nothing. I also have tried to contact my DJ - FM Entertainment. I have left them a message and sent them an email and still no response. I am getting completely infuriated at this point. This is not a great situation to have to be going through and then to have no cooperation through this process makes this very difficult. Anyone have any advice or experience with this they can share. Others have told me the DJ and RH (in Suffolk County) would refund my deposit as I had given them notice well in advance of 6 months from the wedding date. Any help would be appreciated! TIA!

Yes i heard you need 6 months notice, your 6 month mark was this past monday 1/26 Did you send certified letters? If you didnt they probably will say they never got them and threw them out

EXCELLENT!!! Glad you did that. I am sorry that you are going through this though. Call CLM or go down and speak to them personally.
Best wishes

FM Entertainiment is in Nassau, so you might not get anything back.

Re: Canceling Wedding....
They should definately give you your deposit back less the 100 if you sent the letter within the 6 month mark. I did this back in 06 when I switched halls. You can also try contacting consumer affairs. They helped me to get back my money.

Re: Canceling Wedding....
I would go there in person as well if you haven't had luck or just keep calling until you actually get a BM on the phone and don't have to leave a msg. My friend had to cancel her date as well and as soon as she brought up the Suffolk County Law the reception hall said they would send her a check. Good luck!

Write to the attorney general's office (they have a form on line you can print) tell them about your situation and include a copy of the certified/return receipts. I bet as soon as they get on CLM and your DJ you will get your money back. Good luck.

Re: Canceling Wedding....
go in person. I submitted a letter threatening to take the to court and posting reviews up online here at LIW. I also threatened them with HELP ME HOWARD...within a week they responded to me and gave me back my $. Do try to go in person, I handeled it via phone and letter's as I go to school and work and really didn't have much time and only had 3 mnths till my wedding date, but in your case you do need to give them 6 mnths notice.
