So I've had a change of heart and want a much smaller wedding than originally planned.
We have already given the venue $1000 total to hold our date in Sept 07.
Does anyone know if we would get the full amount back if we canceled? I looked over the contract and it mentioned something about them refunding all but 5% or $100, whichever is less if no expenses were incurred on their end (which I don't think they put out any money yet because its still so early).
What does everyone think?

Re: Cancellating a venue - how does it work??
Well if that is what they say in the contract then that is what they will do...Which honestly I don't think would be bad at all and if you want to change it, i would personally just do that. Alot of venues you would have to find someone to take your date and it can become a pain or else they would keep the money...Suffolk county though has a law where you do get your money back, so not sure if your RH is in suffolk.

Yes, my RH is in Suffolk. I will try on Tues and see what happens.
Thanks!

Well thats good then because from what I've seen other ladies say on here, you are protected by law so it shouldn't be a problem...Good luck with everything, hope it works out

Yes, you're right, but as it gets very close to the wedding, you don't get all your $ back. . . because technically they could have booked that date . . .

But even if you have to chalk up $1000. Its not bad, considering . . . .
