Is it standard for most RH to give you the option to cancel if you dislike their food? Is there a penalty?

I dont think RH's give you an option to cancel if you dont like their food. I have never heard of that. Once you put a deposit down, I dont think you get it back if you want to cancel. Read your contract. You dont like your RH's food?? You should have tasted the food before you booked

well what does it say in your contract about cancellations? It will have all this information on the contract...If its suffolk then you can cancel a hall and get all your money back but $100...if its nassau or anywhere else then you dont get any of the money back and you might still even owe a percentage of what your wedding would have cost

Give us some more info.
For me and my FH, we signed our contract based on having and liking a tasting. We had the tasting and loved the food, so it didn't matter.
Unless you are booked in Suffolk county, you basically just need to read your contract and see what it says exactly.

basically what everyone stated here was true... suffolk will give ur money back if u cancel 6 months before and nassau and any other place - you have to read your contract
if this information is for you- than yea you should have tasted your food and than booked.
