Hi-Just looking for some advice as to how to go about canceling a vendor. They didn't do anything wrong, I just feel more confident with another provider. Any advice? TIA...

You don't necessarily have to give them an explanation. Just let them know that you've changed your mind and that you wish to cancel your contract or that you will no longer be needing their services.

Re: Cancelling a vendor
If you cancel a vendor, do you think you will recieve your deposit? I also would like to cancel a vendor. However, I already gave him a 1000.00 deposit and on the bottom of the contract it states non refundable?? any advise

Re: Cancelling a vendor
i think your post said it perfectly. i too am in the same position... i have one vendor i am very seriously thinking about cancelling. i'm lucky that my contract provides me with an out as long as it is more than six months before the wedding (which it is) and i cancel in writing.
my advice if you're looking for deposit $ back is to put the cancellation in writing.... so in case you have a problem you have a paper trail.
good luck and keep us posted on how it goes!

I agree. It's all about CYA. If you send something in writing, keep a copy and send the letter certified mail so you can prove you sent it and that they received it. As far as getting your money back, do you have a contract? What does it say about deposits? If the contract says the deposit is non-refundable, I doubt you'll be able to get the money back. Good luck.

Yeah, on the bottom of the contract its says deposit is non refundable. I really wanted a different vendor.

I don't think you need to provide them with an explanation either... just say that you don't need them in as nice a way as possible! GOOD LUCK!!!
