When cancelling a photographer, do they keep your deposit?
It doesnt have anything written on the contract that the deposit is nonrefundable.

If theres nothing written in the contract about it, then technically you should get it back. If they tell you no, then fight it! Its there own fault for not putting it in the contract.

In most cases, yes they would keep the deposit, but if its not stated in the contract...I think you have a right to get it back. Good luck!

you should get it back if it's not on the contract....
BUT don't be surprised if they don't want to give it back to you.
i'm having to take a vendor to small claims court because of something similar. i don't want to scare you, but i want you to be prepared

In most cases, yes the would keep the deposit, but if its not stated in the contract...I think you have a right to get it back. Good luck!
Right, most places say deposits are non refundable, but in this case there is nothing written on the contract stating, 'Deposit non refundable' Also, its 11 months before the wedding date and I am sure they will be able to fill that slot.
I will talk to one of the attorneys in my office and have them take a look at it. Then, I plan on calling this photography studio and cancelling.

Ifs its not on it then you can get ur money back legally. I have it on my contract no refunds.
Why are u cancelling and who are you cancelling if u don't mind me asking.. can fm me. Curious.

Hopefully I dont have to go through that. I will have an attorney look at it and be on the call with me, that should be enough. We will see.
