Cancer...

just hugged a crying 5th grader. Her mom has cancer and is back in the hospital.

Can someone hug me now? Poor little thing... Stupid, crappyass disease!!!

God, this job just kills me some days....

That stinks!!! This 13 yr old boy I w/o with at the gym, his mom just died of cancer. She relapsed about 6 months before she died. He is dealing fairly well, but my heart just breaks when I see him!

Yeah, i know... My heart was in pieces on Friday. It really bothered me all weekend. You try not to let it get to you but how can you not? You hold this sobbing child, trying to comfort her and trying to keep yourself from sobbing with her. It just exhausts me. It also make me very thankful that I don't have that kind of pain in my life.

Sigh.... It's just so hard to watch these kids deal with such major issues. Thank you all for the hugs. I appreciate it!

It's so sad, my co-worker just died last week from cancer. She was only 43 with 2 kids in HS.

Seriously? Gosh I am so sorry! Poor kids. At least she is out of pain.

One of the kids in my class has a brother who has cancer...he is 5 and a student in the school as well
