Cancer & Aids Whats Your Opinion!!!!!!!!!!

I feel there is a cure for both diseases and i feel there has been for a very long time
This angers me because i was affected by my mother passing of Cancer I do still Donate to funds and i Walk for a Cure but i beleive in my heart that these and many other diseases are making loads of money
Wether you agree or disagree i would love to hear all opinions

I think the government wont give a cure due to overpopulation

Like I said in the other thread, I totally think there are cures for cancer and now, AIDS too.

It amazes me how we can send people to space, fight in a war with such sophisticated weapons and the like, cure other diseases and illnesses, etc., etc., etc., but no cure for certain cancers? Hmmm...I don't know about that...seems a little strange to me.

And, for the record...I am currently being affected by cancer...my FH's father was recently diagnosed with lung cancer...

It really is sad, but all our government does is lie to us. I truly believe there is a cure for these two diseases and many others.

I really hope that there are not cures, that epiople are holding on to, since my grandfather is suffering from lung and brain cancer. I would hate to even think that there is a cure, that they are not sharing with him.

I lost my grandmother to cancer. A friend of mine that I grew up with my entire life lost his uncle to Aids.

I hope that one day when I am blessed with children that their is a cure for both cancer and aids and that generation will be healthier and be able to get he medical care they deserve.

A few years ago I had to write a paper on Ryan White. I dont know if many of you know who he is, but in the 80's he got aids through a blood transfussion. At that time no one knew anything about aids, where it came from, what it was, was it contagious, etc...He made a statement and he was the start of research. He became a spokesperson and a hero. He died at a young age. Because of him so much research was done. New medications were develeped to have people live longer.

I believe that medicine is always being developed. Look at Polo, rebella, even chicken pox's. Diseases not many people knew about, diseases that killed are now controlled. Their are vacines.

I think in time that cures will be developed. How do you think we got penacillian?? who would have thought a piece of mold would turn into a vacine?? So one day, maybe that tiny piece of crumb from your danish could one day be the cure for a deadly disease. We just have to hope for the best

I believe that there are either cures or medications that will greatly reduce the risk of getting certain terminal diseases in the first place, but I don't necessarily think that the government won't release them due to overpopulation (although that is certainly possible - I just hadn't thought of that before). I actually think it has to do more with the pharmaceutical companies lobbying the politicians and greasing their palms. Drug companies don't make money if there is no disease to treat anymore. People who are in a position where they are faced with a terminal disease will often go to great lengths to try anything that may extend their lives, and if there was a known cure, these drug companies couldn't make money with their 'experimental' drugs.

Granted, the benefits of pharmaceuticals and the hard work of the research scientists and doctors who truly are making a difference with drugs should not go unnoticed, but the bottom line is still, well, the bottom line.

My father is a cancer survivor and his best friend contracted HIV and passed away due to complications of it.....I'm not sure if there is government control over cures and such...but I do feel that a lot more can be done as far as distributing dollars.....in my opinion...if it exists whether its created by G-d or the government...there has to be a cure for it...it's a matter of the right person being in the right place to find it or create it.

If there are cures that are not being released, that would be the smost cruel act a gov't can pull on it's people. IMO - I do not think there are cures being held back- even if the gov't and the pharmaceutical companies 'want to keep people sick to make money', there would be individuals that work for these companies that would come out and go to the media. I know if I worked for one and I found out there was a cure- I would call the media and get the information out there.

I lost my Mother to cancer and my best friend (she was 24)!

I think that if they catch the cancer early on, they can cure it. I think if the cancer has spread to a certain point, they don't know how to fight it fast enough. I think it would be really sick if there was a cure for cancer and aids and they weren't telling us.

I have thought about this theory...but I don't think its true...

there is WAY too much money involved in these cures...for example lets say the richest man in the world (possibily not in the US) had cancer...I bet that the 'Inventer' would go to him and sell it...

people are trying to get around US cloaning laws...and they get around tax laws...by setting up businesses in other countries...I would think this would happen as well...

also the pharmacutical companies in the US are huge campaign contributers...

Sort of like the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment? Where for 40 years the government conducted 'studies' on 399 black men from Alabama - being told they were being treated for 'bad blood' yet the government was contracting them with Syphilis with NO intention of giving them the penicillin that was found to get rid of it. Forty years - from 1932 - 1972. I admit I have no real knowledge of much when it comes to this. I brushed with Cancer myself when I was 20 but had it removed.. and almost every female in my family dies of it.. and im still unsure what's what when it comes to cancer.

Is there a cure? Im not sure.. I do believe though that there are medications and procedures to greatly lengthen the life of people with cancer or AIDS.... FOR A PRICE.

I mean the rich still die of Cancer and AIDS I know.. but per capa.. i find it oddly disturbing that my grandmothers wallowed in pain in misery for years before they diagnosied her.. but Mr. Hollywood would probably have been in remission during that same time frame.

Money buys a lot.. and medical care is one of the biggest things I feel is unfairly distributed to the rich.

As a person who believes in the world of science as still basically a forum for facts and sharing of those facts.. Im leaning to say theres' no cure, per se..

However, I feel there are tons of other things that dont get put into place because of FDA reguliations and other legal BS, plus Money issues, pharamcuetical contract fights and basic greed issues.. the price.. millions of lives.
