Ok so I am thinking about changing the resort we booked in Cancun for our HM to something else. Not sure.
Any of you ladies have suggestions?
I guess I should add I want to be closer to the main strip where the restaurants, malls, and clubs are. Not all the way at the tip near the water park and the Marriott/Club Med that is at the far end of the hotel zone

The Moon Palace isn't on the main strip but is GRGEUS!
Edited to add the Cancun Palace is on the strip and is just as nice. I was just looking at pics and I want to go right now!

I was looking into the Royal...we are staying at the sister resort. But I think it'll be like another $600 to stay at the royal. I read on trip advisor you may be able to upgrade upon check in to the royal and it may be cheaper, but not 100% sure on that

My FH and I have stayed at the Hilton and absolutely loved it there! Not too close to the strip too.(restaurants, clubs, etc)

Yea I was looking into dreams....it seemed like only $80 more than what I was paying...well than the hotel I have now as per the current expedia rate.

Yea the Palace's were gorgeous....but super expensive!!!!

all inclusive was great too, and the restaurants are AWESOME!! a japanese sushi restaurant, and a wolrd buffet that has a ton offood

How are the rooms? Alot of reviews on trip advisor say they are outdated.

I would just suggest not going crazy over the location of the hotel. FH & I went to Cancun twice. We stayed at the Riu and Oasis chains which have both have sister hotels so we'd just jump on a bus and go spend a day at the sister hotel. The buses are really awesome there, and although there are 'locals' on them, they're all people who work in the hotels, not thugs or anything. The bus runs every 5 minutes and will take you anywhere you want to go. I have never felt unsafe on the bus, we even took it back to the hotel after going clubbing. The bus drivers are also super helpful and we would tell him where we wanted to go and he'd tell us where to get off. Pick a hotel that you love, everything else is just a bus ride away. HTH

The Gran Caribe is beautiful, but if you're a pool person, it looks a bit small. Did you check out the ME Cancun and Live Aqua? Even the Riu Palace is gorgeous! We're going to the Riu Cancun for the bachelorette, I can't wait!! I Cancun!!
