Need suggestions on where to eat, what activities not to be missed, etc... Please spare me your wild spring break experiences since we're all now or soon to be old married couples

CoCo Bongo is a MUST!!!!!!! Yes it is a club but you will have great time with the performances they put on.
I have been to many islands and Cancun is still one of my favorites because of the service. The staff is wonderful at all the places I have stayed.

DH is trying to find a club that will play straight house music.... like not the commerialized stuff... I told him I doubt they'll have that since its so touristy... Did you come across any places like that?

Actually, they do play a lot of house music in all of their clubs. I couldn't believe that is the music of choice there.

There is a GORGEOUS outdoor shopping area right across the street from the Aqua Cancun Fiesta American hotel that you MUST GO TO. Absolutely beautiful, some nice restaurants. I loved it because all the clothes stores there carry all the European brands that its difficult to find in the US (Ferre, Galliano, etc). But they also have little stores with authentic Mexican stuff too.
There is also a beautiful fountain by the water there. Pics below.

Dady-Os was nuts! Alot of fun. I'd skip Senor Frogs. It was just eh. We stayed at Royal Solaris and it was really nice, but far from the clubs.

I was totally going to suggest that but I was in Cancun like 12 years ago and didn't know if that was still there. It was amazing though!

ITAAAA!!!!!!!!! SOOOO much fun!!!! great show!!!!!!!
we also went to xcaret which was AWESOME!! its like an amusement park but in like a natural setting, no rides or anything, they have snorkeling/dolphin rides/butterfly gardens, you can see panthers (on an isolated island lol), just really cool cultural stuff and then they put on this show at night about native americans, so much fun
also check out the ruins, we went to Tulum, it was GORGEOUS! the ruins were really amazing, the only ones next to water, and the beach there was unbelievable! we made a day out of it, checked out the ruins and chilled at the beach afterwards

I was just there last year. We ate at Harrys steak house. OMG you have to go there. It's the most amazing food and the view(especially at sunset) is unbelievable. We also took a lobster dinner cruise. That was very fun too. No dancing or anythign like that but a nice boat ride. As far as night life.. COCO Bongo is the place to be. I love that place. I also recommend Bulldogs. Like 80's and up. Some rock. FUN..

we stayed at an all-inclusive allegro resort- the place was AMAZING and when i tell you like years later i still dream about the restaurants.... lol i agree- bypass senor frogs. there was a place i forgot the name that had all outdoor tables and bars right on the water and that was really fun and cool. enjoy!!!

We went and ate this argentinian steak house...one of the most amazing meals we have ever had! the food was incredible...
our honeymoon was at EPM which was like 20 miles from there...
so we did Chichen Itza ruins- long drive but totally worth it....absolutely amazing
Selvatica- there are a bunch of activities you can pick here- we did ziplining and dune buggys, then you swim in a cenote afterwards and ride ziplines out into the water. They also have snorkeling, horsebackriding and some other things..we bought the video at the end...skip to 2:15 to begin looking for us
Isla Mujeres- a cool little day trip, you take a speedboat right across the water to this little island, you can do some flea market shopping, rent bikes, go swimming...we saw an authentic little Mexican dance show right there on the beach...

I am going to Cancun in May with my FH and my best friend. I would totally want to go see the Chichen Itza ruins. Was it a tour? or did you just explore yourself?

I've been to Cancun for spring break and my sister in laws bachelorette party two summers ago. Cancun is awesome, definitely check out Lorenzillo's for a delicious seafood dinner one night. Coco Bango is the best club there soo much fun.
