Kertasníkir or Candle Beggar (24th Dec.) is the last or 13th Yule Lad to make his journey down from the mountains. In the old days candles were made from animal fat, and Candle Beggar was always faced with the very difficult decision of whether to gaze at the candle´s entrancing glow, or gulp a few down to quiet the howls emanating from his stomach.
