Re: candle centerpieces

I bought a hurricane glass form Michales, put a white candle inside, filled it with some sand then crystals on top. I also bought a mirror to put it on. It cost $20. on't want flowers so this is my way of keeping costs down.

My friend used a glass bowl vases, filled them with water and floated candles and a few rose petals. They were really pretty and inexpensive.

I wouldn't use floating candles unless you absolutely know they will last through the entire reception. they look silly when they are burnt out. You could just float a few flower on top of the water.
I really like the idea of the hurricane with the candle. You could play around with what to put inside. For the fall you could also scatter some leaves and small pumpkins/ghourds on the table around the hurricane.. or you could lay a grapevine wreath on the table and put the hurricane w/ candle in the center. you could decorate the grapevine wreath with faux grapes and leaves.
