I have decided that I want to do candle centerpieces. I'm not all that crazy about flowers and I like the more intimate romantic feel that candles will give.
I've found some stuff online to make them myself, and it seems that I can do it for pretty cheap. My question is, does anyone know how much a florist would charge for the candle centerpeices? If its not much more than doing it myself I would rather just pay to have them done.
I'd like to have floating candles, with flowers or colored crystals in the candle holders. Maybe some flower petals scattered around the table.
Any information on this would be really helpful. FH told me that if I spend less money on the wedding we can go to Bora Bora for the honeymoon, so needless to say I have been looking to cut down my budget

Re: Candle centerpieces
i'm definitely looking into doing candles for the centerpieces. either that or lanterns with some sort of small floral arrangement in the middle. but i love the lighting of the candles, especially if it's a night reception. everything i've looked at so far is at michael's and ac moore (mostly just candleholders) and the prices really vary. i think it's a great option because you spend so much money on flowers for them to die in a week when really, the guests can take home the candle centerpieces and actually use them. let me know if you find any good deals on bulk buying! :)

I've looked on save-on-crafts.com and also quickcandles.com and they both have a lot of inexpensive things you can buy.
The Quickcandles website has a lot of candles and candle holders that you can buy in bulk and the prices seem very reasonable. I ordered a few and they came in a few days ago, and the quality is very good as well.
The only thing I am worried about is who will set them up. If I bring everything to the RH will they set it up for me, or will I have to have some one come in and set them up for me?

Re: Candle centerpieces
they will set it up for you..
after reading one of the bride's review.. tip:: take pictures of how you would like them to set it up for you and if you have a DOC - she can do it!

i'm going to have to check that out! i'm really leaning towards that instead of floral centerpieces. as far as set up goes, i have never even thought about that! i guess it really depends on the place. i know if i asked some of my family (mom, aunts and cousins) they would definitely help me out with it.

I've seen these amazing candle centerpieces on that show Wedded to Perfection... The candles are in a mirror box. The reflection makes it look like there are hundreds of candles...Here is the link....
