I'm thinking about doing candle votives for placecards.
Has anyone else done these or been to a wedding where they used them?
I've seen pics where they are all set up on a table and the guests take them as they come into the room. I'm concerned that they may get too hot for guests to hold.
Ideas?

1) as long as its thick glass they will not get too hot. thats only a problem with the really thin ones.
2) make sure they are only lit like 5-10 min. before the ch hour is over so they dont have time to get too hot.

I'm doing it, but we're not lighting them. We're wrapping them in tulle, putting the Escort cards on them as tags, and they will be the favors as well.

I wanna do them as well. I heard not to use votives. Use tealights. They should not get as hot.

that and also if you use votives it wont look right. See in the pic how the light its right around the names? thats b/c its a tealight so its low.. if it was a votive it would be higher and where the names are ( centered) would be dark and harder to read.
