Candy Bar

For the girls who are having a candy bar, how much candy do you have to buy? Where are you buying from? And where did you get your jars from? TIA

I also borrowd jars and scoopers from a friend. The candy I am ordering online because I have to stick with all red and white candies. I am having about 10 different kinds of candies and 10 pounds of each.

I bought my jars from Michael's. How much candy I buy will depend on how many jars I use. Right now I have 15 jars.(that's it) I'm just trying to figure out now which candies I want to use.

? about the candy bar...your RH doesn't charge you for this? You get to do it on your own? Do they bring it in around dessert time?

I have to call and ask them I'm not really sure. We are having a Viennese hour and was thinking about doing this just to add a little something extra.

I just called and they will do it!!!! It only costs like a couple of hundred extra. He said I will meet with a coordinator there around April and we can set everything up then!!! So excited!!!!!!

I got all of my jars and scoops at The Container Store. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the jars because I know that the candy is going to cost a fortune! I ended up spending between 1-4 per jar.

As for how much candy? I have no idea My hall is giving me a huge long table. I plan to buy as many jars as I can to cover the table and just fill them all to the rim. The containers I have hold 197 ounces and 94 ounces... so I have a lot of candy to buy to fill each one!

Be careful when a hall says they will 'take care' of the candy bar for you. Mine said the same thing. What they really meant was 'you have to buy all the candy, the jars, the scoopers, and label all the jars, but we will set it up pretty for you'.

From what I've read, you should assume a pound of candy for every 2-3 guests. Also, you want to have larger containers and fewer types of candy. Having alot of small containers makes i look like a kid's halloween party and not a wedding. Assume 8-12 lbs per jar.

Jars can be expensive, but there are alot of great sites out there where you can get candy in bulk. I'm hoping to get cheap jars off of an LIW bride and then sell them again on LIW to another bride.

I am doing the candy buffet as my favors. If it turns out to be too expensive, I will simply have to do large bags of hershey's kisses. But this is one of the things I had my heart set on
