Re: Candy Bar

Because we're having a cocktail and dessert reception, I opted to have as much cocktail hour food and dessert food as possible. Our RH is providing the candy bar but we're supplementing the candy with our own to make it even fuller. I think it's a nice touch and we have personalized bags so that's one of our favors.

Just so you know I was told at Crest Hollow that you cannot bring the candy in and that you have to do it through them. They have a candy cart that has cotton candy, large lollipops, candy apples and other candies.

If you are having the VH I do not think it is worth the money! (but that is only me)

At Fox Hollow, we were told it would be an extra $10pp for a VH. That's definitely not worth it to do VH and candy bar, on top of the wedding cake AND dessert provided, so we're just doing a candy bar.

I REALLY love candy

We had a candy bar, but did not have a venetian hour.

to be honest, with dessert, wedding cake, and the candy bar it was even too much. At the end of the night we brought at least 10 boxes home from all the left over candy it was ridiculous. I mean all of our guests raved about how cute, and nice it was especially to be able to take candy home with them but I personally think that one or the other is plenty.

Did you bring in your own candy? I'm at Westbury too so I was wondering if I should do a take home something or their mashed potato bar during cocktail hour

Re: Candy Bar

We originally had booked the mashed potato bar, at our last meeting with the Westbury we decided to cancel it after going through all the food choices that they already give you that just seemed that an extra cost that didn't seem worth it. (trust me their cocktail hour is INSANE) your guests will NOT be hungry lol.

I did the candy bar through the Westbury, it was great and there was little baggies with our names & wedding date so it was kinda like a favor as well for them to bring home. HTH :)
