candy buffet

candy buffet

So I'm a BIG time candy lover and we already have personalized favor bags...I'm thinking of doing the candy buffet for favors. Maybe getting 7-10 different candy ideas and putting it in bowls with scoops for guests to choose.

I'm just not sure, how much of each kind of candy to get. I will have approx 180 guests. Is 5 lbs of each candy enough? I also don't know how the guests will know that this is their favor and what to do. Do I leave the empty bags on their table..I mean how will that look when they get there at first? LOL Does the DJ maybe make an announcement about it? I dunno..

I'm clueless but I LOVE the idea. If you've done it or seen it, please let me know how. Also, is this an acceptable favor? I was goig to just fill the bags with jelly beans so I would think this would be even better: )

I think its a cute idea, you can leave the bags at each place setting and have stickers made with a poem....the poem with explain what the bag is for and when to fill them. Or just put these bags out on the candy table and have the DJ make an announcement that the 'favors are now being served'. The only think I have opposed to this is that older more traditional guests are going to be looking for a favor they can have as a keepsake; frame, candy bowl, bottle stop etc. Once the candy is eaten they won't have anything to remind them of your special day. But I do think its a cute idea.

True but the bag is personalized...it's satin and has our names and date on itso they can use it time and time again. Plus, how many bottle stoppers etc..do you already have? I know for me personally, I have them all favors like that shoved in a drawer somewhere...I love practical favors but I have like five of each of them/

I dunno, just a thought.

Thats very true....I didn't know they were nice satin personalized bags...thought they were just like candy plastic bags. If thats what your doing then its a great idea. The bags will make it very nice and special.

Someone on here had a pic of this from their engagment party I believe. They actually made a little poem that said 'please fill your bag with candy, on your way out' basically lol But it was in poem form and it was really cute. They put it in a picture frame near the candy so that people would know this was a favor.

It depends on what kind of candy you want. I would also make sure you get the containers first, this way you will know how much you have to fill up.
