Candy Buffet ?

Hi Ladies,

So I am thinking about doing a candy buffet ( my MIL wants one sooo bad I just can't say no to her) Should I still give favors? Or do you think it is not needed?

Please help.

Thanks Ladies. Happy Planning!

I think if you just want to do the candy buffet as the favor, it's totally fine. There is no need for you to get anything else if you don't want to.

I did a candy buffet, a photobooth, and 2 favors. OVERKILL!

Guests hardly even looked twice at the favors, let alone take them home. But the candy buffet was a huge hit!

Before the wedding I was all about 'Well you have to have favors!' but now looking back I should've just done the cnady buffet/photobooth.

If you're concerned like I was that people would miss the favors, why not put out empty little boxes (or chinese take out boxes, like we did, with our monogram on it) at each place setting with a little note to make sure you fill it up at the candy buffet before you head home! HTH!

I am also doing a candy buffet that we are going to make ourselves. I was going to do a favor but I was talking to FH and we think that if we just get bags with our names and maybe thank you and let people just get a candy favor that would be enough. We are going to order lollypops with our names on them for the station too I think. I feel like that is plenty

Wow 2 favors!!!!!!!!!! I was def thinking of the take out boxes as well as the monogram stickers. Would you happen to still have info on where you bought yours.

Feels like an idiot of why I haven't used this sight you guys are awesome. It's like a cheap way of having a wedding advisor.

I am so addicted to reading posts, it's the first site I go to in the morning at work

Thank you ladies

Ya know, I like that way of looking at it- cheap wedding advisors!

I'd be happy to help!! Originally, I wanted the fancy pants chinese take out boxes in colors or the frosted white ones. Those are EXPENSIVE! We ordered plain white 1/2 pint sized take out boxes from an online restaurant depot. There were I think 400 or 500 for $60? I had our monogramn made through Pink Design Events, but I think she's no longer in business!

I uploaded one of those monograms to zazzle.com and ordered the stickers from there. They were a little pricey, so I think you should look for other companies (I know a lot of people complain that the receive the wrong items as well!) but we had no problems with them. We ordered the small round stickers, I think 10 sheets of 20. We had the RH mix the monogrammed take out boxes with the plain ones and we were good to go!

We actually DIYed the candy buffet (and baked mini cupcakes for it as well) so we purchased most of the glassware at Michael's/AC Moore/Christmas Tree Shop and most of the candy from metrocandy.com and candywarehouse.com.

Sorry this was outrageously long! lol! Hope it helps! Feel free to FM me with any questions and check out my review for some candy buffet pics!

I am doing a candy buffet and i am doing it myself. I purchased my jars from AC Moore, Michaels, Walmart and Ikea. We are having a chocolate theme so alot of our jars will be filled with different types of chocolates. We are also having a few jars with sugar free candy.

We are using these as our favors. I ordered boxes from papermart.com and the person doing our invites are printing labels with our monogram on it. A bride on here did my monogram for me and sent me the jpg.

What was the site where you got the chinese take out boxes?? I like that idea a lot!!!

The dollar tree has a lot of glassware that could work also for the buffet. I am going to try to get a lot of 40% off coupons to Michaels and go weekly.

Any suggestions for bulk candy?? I was thinking of going to BJ's.

Just a heads up, it is outrageously difficult to find good sugar free candies. We wound up getting a variety of different kinds from CVS (the only place where we could find real GOOD ones- like sugar free hershey's dark chocolate, reese's, peppermint patties, etc.) but it was expensive!!

We ordered from metrocandy.com (10% discount on first time orders!) and from candywarehouse.com. We did pick up a few things- the liquer cordials, ring pops, and something else at BJs but they had a lot of the BIG candy bars in bulk which is not what we wanted. And we also wanted to get 'nostalgic' candy.

As for the take out boxes, I can't really remember the site. But any online restaurant depot should have them for cheap!

I bought most of the candy in the city @ economy candy on Rivington Street. It's a great store.

I think there are pics in my album!

i have heard sugar free is hard to find. My mother in law said she knows a place in the city where you can get the sugar free candy. Not sure where. I think she is holding out so i dont go without her.

I have heard candywarehouse is good and I plan on buying some from bj

I had a candy buffet at my e-party. Instead of chinese take out boxes we used cellophane bags with a damask pattern to match the theme. They were much more affordable ($8 for 50!). Forgot where I ordered them but they are about the same price everywhere.

We also covered crunch bars with personalized wrappers so people had a momento. We got these from candywrapperstore.com.

I ordered all my candy from BJ's and Amazon but you can also check out candywharehousecom.

You can order special colored m&m. I plan on ordering gold m&m and mix them with the chocolate ones since my colors are chocolate brown and gold
