what do you like to eat at a candy buffet?

also, how many lbs of each candy do you think I need to order? If I do M&Ms lets say, do I need 5lb? 10lb?

OHH I need to do this too!!!

We are having 220 guests (give or take). I have 10 jars/bowls/ things to hold the candy. I was going to get 10 different kinds of candy.

No idea how much though. I never thought about that actually. Doesnt 10 lbs of candy sound like sooo much?!!!

I think it also depends on how big the candy bags are. Mine are smallish.

I think we had 8lbs. of M&Ms at ours. It was just enough to fill the giant martini glass with some left over to refill. I'm telling you, 5 lbs. is so much LESS than what it sounds like.

Hmm let's see- the guests really loved the old fashioned candy the best- the gummi bears, candy dots, wax bottles, etc.

My favorite candy is always mini reese's.

Depends on how many guests you have and if you want all your guests to get a little of all of it...

Here is candy I like:

-jordan almonds (my favorite!!)
-m&m's (regular and peanut works for me)
-candy corn (seasonal- but I like how it looks in those jars)
-hershey kisses (crowd pleaser and looks good!)
-some sort of lollipop or peppermint sticks
-actually rock candy sticks would be good - a lot of halls have that and its yummy and you can put it in the drinks
-sour patch kids (good to have at least one thing sour and these are the best)
-maybe tootsie rolls
-red jelly belly jellybeans
-chocolate covered almonds or raisins

Candy necklaces and ring pops were a big hit at ours and I believe BJs has both!

ETA: Surprisingly Swedish Fish were a big hit, too! And I was looking forward to my Watermelon Sour Patch but the jar got knocked over and broke.

I'd be careful with peanut butter candies or anything with nuts. Even though people should know to be aware of their allergies, they might grab the wrong thing or just forget.

I'd do:

M&Ms
old fashioned candies
mini candy bars

are you making labels of what the candy is to put infront of the jar this way people know (incase they can't tell).

I am doing about 10-12 different candy, but I don't know how many of each diff type to order!!

I DID NOT CONSIDER THIS!

I dont think I am going to. Someone from the RH will help serve and they will know what everything is if people have questions.

No one from the RH helped our guests. We made labels on blank index cards and either folded them in front of the jar or used double sided tape to attach them to the glass.

ETA: You can kinda see some of the labels in the picture, even the tented ones on the table in front of the jar tossed aside.

I agree to stay away w/ anything with nuts for allergy reasons.

Also - being that you have fall colors, you can probably get Hersheys Kisses, etc. in the fall color wrappers.
