Hello Fellow Swannies, Wondering if I should still do the viennesse hour at the swan club or should I just do a candy buffet and go all out on that. The reason I am asking is because I want the VH BUT it turns out that if I decide to do that they are going to use the last hour of my (4) hour reception and I don't think that's far since I'm already paying a set price for that range of hours. Secondly I asked if I provided small take out boxes so that people can take some cookies or dessert home from the VH their response was 'no'. So I think it's a waste and I rather just have an extravagant candy buffet and maybe include cotton candy. I had also asked about cotton candy and they don't provide that either. What do you ladies suggest??!! Thank you in advance!

LOL - This is the exact conversation that I had last night with my FH. Since it is set up on the dance floor @ the Watermill you also lose almost 1 hour of dance time that you are paying the DJ for. I'm thinking at the end of the night I would rather have the dancing considering all the other food that I will be having since I have the wedding cake, a dessert and chocolate fountain already in my package.

I would do the candy buffet. It sucks they dont give u an extra hr for VH. Plus them saying no to the take home boxes seems absurd to me. U paid for it, why cant your guests take home whats left?

i would buy the boxes anyway and do the VH
try to get them to add an extra hour - you'll probably have to pay for it, but if you want it, there is always a price!

I don't know about Swan Club, but Watermills no to the take out boxes was 'there's never enough left over for people to take home'. Already asked the question.

I love the candy buffet idea.
Although Viennese sounds amazing, I see what you mean about it cutting into your reception time and guests wont be able to take it home.
I think the candy buffet will be great b/c people can snack on it on the way home or even the next day.

They won't budge and they told me not to bring the take out boxes because they are not going to allow it. I don't want to be embarrassed that day... UGH! What to do, what to do!!??!!

I asked them and they said that is their policy and there is no way around it. :(

I'd say don't cut into your 4 hr reception...it will go by so fast! Just stick with the candy buffet, and people can go to it when they would like the last hour and it won't stop the party. And sent you the info for the cotton candy as well!

This is exactly what we're going to do! Partly because I'm obsessed with candy, but also because at Fox Hollow, the viennese hour is more like 30 minutes...and I can eat all the leftovers no one takes haha
