Candy buffet...Parents are annoying

Candy buffet...Parents are annoying

I posted a week or two ago about the candy buffet and I really want to do it, but my parents are trying to find every reason in the book to stop me. UGH!

Anyway, last night they told me that the North Ritz won't let me do it because they would have to set it up and that would be an extra cost. I told my parents that the day planner would set up the buffet and the cards on each plate, all the hall has to do is set up a table (preferably) rectangualr with linens. I dont see why that would be a problem or an extra cost. But my mom yelled at me for an hour of how i was wrong.

What are your thoughts on this?

Whoever is paying for it is the one who has the final say!

Thanks girls - my mom thinks ppl will take too much or that some ppl will take all of one type of candy and leave ppl with the type they dont like. She wants me to give 'pre-packaged' bags with candy in it. THATS NOT FUN!

BUT...........
My main question is: do you think the hall will mind setting it up? Cause they said that they cannot set up a viennese hour for a day wedding cause its too much prep - so my parents think they wont set this up.

But I dont want all the food needed to set up an viennese hour - just a table.

I would contact NRC to see what they say for myself,...not go by what mom says....

I agree. Instead of wondering if you can do it, just call your hall and ask. They can end the disagreement very quickly and then you can report back to your parents and go from there.

When my friend had her wedding at North Ritz she had them set up a table (with linens) for her favors. They gave out espresso sets which werte too large to add to the table. Best of all - there was no extra fee!!

ETA - Her wedding was also a day wedding. The only thing they asked is that she have someone clear the table when as soon as the event was over so they could arrange for the next wedding. That sounds like something your day of planner could help you with.
