I kind of understand there reasoning for not having women. But as a woman, it upsets me that some churches have gone that far..

I actually don't see anything wrong with this. Sorry.

It was 12 men. not women

I mean I guess guys could complain that they can't be the Virgin Mary in symbolism.

I think sometimes we take equality too far and lose sight of history.

We are in 'living history' so we feel what we do is just. I mean we KNOW they were men who would doubt that. But in future generations that may not be so clear and something we do today may blur their understanding. We need to leave historical re-inactments and historical references alone. Its the only real way to keep the past intact.

Like I disagreed with the idea that the 3 firefighters who raised the flag on 9/11 should be symbolized by three races to better appease the public. History is history keep it intact.

I wouldnt go nuts over it.. but still I see where these guys are coming from.

I see where the ladies are coming from too. Good for them to disagree and voice it. But my personal opinion is leave it be.

I have to agree with keeping it men also, the disciples were men, why add women to the mix. If they were depicting something else I could understand it, but they are trying to mimic the disciples. Should be left at that.

I have to agree with allowing it only be men. The bible tells us it was men and we have to respect history. I really don't think it's an equality issue here. Should we allow a man to 'act' as the virgin mary in a Christmas pagent for equality? I think that's taking it a little too far.

JMO though.
