can not sleep ... thinking of going back to giorgios and negotiating ... commiting to 25 more people in exchange for some extra;s ....
not sure if it will work ... but I think I am sure going to try ....

Be careful with the minimum guarantees, I went just about as high as I was comfortable but more people might say no than we're anticipating and then you're stuck paying for them. I always start to get nervous when I see the girls getting married now posting how many people say no to the invites!

I agree, I think thats why I can't sleep.... but we really want the extra;s .... so I would prefer to be able to invite more people and get them ,,, I feel like the value is there then. Well ... we have to see what they say .... ahh! Stress!

I think that my FH and I have a unique view towards our minimum. We have guaranteed 180 and quite frankly we can't afford to pay for 181 lol. We are looking at the Rh cost as a whole instead of as a per head thing. For us, our WHOLE cost is worth what we're getting. We would rather pay for five empty plates and still receive what we're getting than go over our minimum. Now, clearly if 185 people RSVP we aren't going to be like sorry, first 180 only, but that is the number we are hoping for.
If you think 'increasing your minimum' aka guaranteeing to pay more is worth it for extras, then go for it. If you hate the idea of paying for empty plates, then I'd be leery.

you still have time before your wedding. i hear lots of halls start thinking in extra's the closer it is to the date. maybe when you go to pay have small chat with the BM. try to talk down the price of the extras.....
by the time your wedding comes around a cheaper price on extras and a lower minimum may be better !

I know you are are right ..
there are 2 ways to go about it .... in the end we will probably will end up with more than the 125 ... right around 150 ....
I have no problem paying for empty seats .... finding last minute people really is not that difficult! knowing all along that we will be getting the extra;s that we really want while getting the extra people in that we want to invite ...
I don;t know ... you all have good points ... just have to think it over
