Can't stand my apartment any more!!!! NEED A HOUSE NOW!!!!!

All I have to say is 6 floods in 12 days... still haven't finished soaking it all up! No insurance. Nothing except for clothes that got wet, more of a hassle than anything else....

We have been arguing with our land lady and Brian and I feel that it is time for us to split. Brian wanted to buy a house here, then he wanted to buy a house upstate.... Now we have no idea.. all i know is that if we dont find a home soon I am going to go insane!!!!!!!!!! We were working with a realestate but they were really a PITA (pain in the....) we found a place, put in an offer, they declined... Now we cant find anything else... Uuuuuuuggggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does ANYBODY know of a home for sale in a good neighborhood that could be a possible mother daughter or has a LEGAL accessory apartment???????? Please FM me any possible leads! Thanks in advance!

Where are you looking? Suffolk, Nassau?

There are a few good homes for sale by me that has an appt you can rent out, can easily be converted, or a single family. Nice neighborhood.

Technically we are looking EVERYWHERE... We live in suffolk now and don't mind Nassau... We just dont know which neighborhoods are good and which are not.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

When you find that house with the legal apartment, let me know - we'll rent it from you!!

I don't know of any particular houses but I just want you to know I feel your pain. We rented a basement apartment for the first 1 and 1/2 years of marriage and it was a nightmare. I had the loudest, most inconsiderate landlords on the face of the earth. There were nights I couldn't sleep, think, read, or even turn the TV volume high enough to cover their noise. They never shoveled, never fixed certain things the whole time we were there, and really made things difficult in general. We were going to wait longer to save more but we couldn't take it and didn't want to move to another rental.

My advice would be that if neither of you commute into the city, look in Central Suffolk. We live in Centereach and we're very happy. The neighborhood is nice, there's a lot nearby in terms of stores, entertainment, etc., and the school district is good. Selden, Holtsville, Lake Grove, Ronkonkoma, Holbrook, etc. are all nice areas that we considered. Relatively speaking, they're more affordable and you get more house for your money than in Nassau or Western Suffolk. You could do it even if you worked in the city because you'd be close to the Ronkonkoma train station, you'd just have a long ride.
