That's horrible! FH and I wanted a small wedding, but FMIL HAS to invite everybody (they have a very large family), but at least she agreed to pay for the cost of all those people.

Can you ask your Fh to tell his mother that the wedding is very expensive, and that you would like for her to pay for her friends.

I asked my mom to do this, and she said she would.

My FMIL actually gave me another person to invite last friday. My wedding is this saturday!

i want to die right now

tell your MIL that she can give me the list of her friends so i can invite them to my wedding, my rsvp is next week and i only have 55 attending so far

I would tell her that the RSVP date has passed and that if she really feels it is necessary to invite these people she must:
1. PAY FOR THEM!!!! (since they aren't family)
2. Hand deliver the invitations and explain to them why they are late (or enclose a note)

otherwise - no go!
