Going to see New Hyde Park, and North Ritz Club this weekend CANNOT wait.. Hub and I have not done anything Wedding related in the past few weeks bc of the holidays etc..
now we are back at it!
any reviews, negatives, comments on these places.. how are the ballrooms food? and we are really into uplighting I hope they both have it

The NRC grounds are nice. It's a bit on the smaller side IMO but they do have a bar out there and tables set up so people can eat out there during CH - which i really love!

Both are beautiful places. If they don't have uplighting, then you can get it from a DJ. Don't let that be the dealbreaker. Good luck shopping though and I hope you find what you love!

Those are 2 great choices!
I was booked at NRC for my wedding in 2006 which I had to postpone and I'm now booked at the Inn at NHP! LOL Good taste!
The Inn is a lot more expensive, but I find it's more unique (LOVE the CH space). I also feel the service I get is so much better, but I had a bad experience at NRC that would not be replicated because it was unique to our situation.
I haven't had the food at NRC, but the food at the Inn is fabulous and the treat us like family when we go there. We're getting more in our Inn pkg, but we are paying more. I also feel like they've thought of everything, with the drop down plasmas, the built in speakers, etc etc. I'd encourage you to go to both places and see which one you like better. Both are BEAUTIFUL.
Pros of NRC- Ballroom layout is a little nicer IMO Granite dance floor One event at a time- no on site restaurant (the Inn has a restaurant and may have other events but no other weddings) Significantly less $$ beautiful staircase in lobby
Cons of NRC- Small CH space. have to go downstairs for bathroom 'meh' grounds' Not as nice indoor ceremony space Fake fireplace in bridal suite
Pros of the Inn @NHP Larger I think it's more well-appointed in general - old world feel, chandeliers, all of the little touches Real fireplace in gorgeous lobby the bridal suite has a shower and is the size of my house AMAZING indoor CH space like nothing I've ever seen before 7-8 dinner choices
Cons of Inn More $$ restaurant on site small(er' dance floor
ETA: When we booked NRC uplighting wasn't really a thing, so I don't know if they offer it now, but I know the Inn does it for $500, which is a lot cheaper than having someone come in to do it.

As an NRC bride, I have nothing but glowing reviews. They were very professional from beginning to end and had everything we were looking for -
* one wedding at a time * large dance floor * outdoor cocktail hour
sure, that's a very small list, but it felt perfect for us when we walked in. the price was right and they threw in tons of extras as we went along in the process. the tasting was great and on the day of the wedding, the food was AMAZING - people still tell us what an amazing wedding it was.
we got our uplighting through Prestige Lighting Events (see their website gallery - NRC for pics, and my LIW album), and it completed the look in the ballroom!
