Can't Wait To Be A Wife and End this Torture!!! (VENT LONG)

There was a post recently about the post wedding blues. Does anyone else think that they will be happy when this is over and they are finally married and can just relax!? I can't wait to be a wife!!!

I can't wait until 9/21, the day afer. I feel like the test will be over, pencils down and I can jus relax as a married woman.

Girls, Have to tell you this story-

My mother and I took off from work half the day today to go to our florist. I was so excited because today was the day we were going to get to choose our colors, see the table set, select our chuppah and the organize all the colors and flowers for the bridal party, bouquets and groomsmen.

The florist sat down with us and added 5k to the florist bill right off the bat, without telling us what we were getting for our money. My mother asked if he as going to set a place setting for us and he says no- he doesn't have the flowers in right now for my september wedding. he doesn't even know my colors. I'm like, it's august. when would you be dealing with a september bride if not now? Then, after I pressed him, he made a centerpiece for me with dead flowers!!!! They were dead and told me to picture it with live flowers!!!! I said how could I possibly? I was looking at brown, closed flowers!! Then I started trying to get his attention as he talked about everything under the sun like setting my mother up with someone, the weather this summer, were we hungry- did we want to order lunch? He did not even listen to me!!! He didn't even take notes!! And, this is the worst- I had remind him of everything my club said he would need for the wedding.... Linens for example and Napkins. I said, 'remember we need this and the club said you would need to supply this!!!' The only reason I saw my linens was because I stopped some random guy there and begged to see the different linens they had. I never saw my bouquet, I never saw the boutoniere. I never saw what my girls will have on. He's just like- do you trust me? I'm like no!!!! I also, just got home and realized I forgot to mention the dais table for two.

I hate that I'm the florist! I am paying for their talent not mine and they are supposed to be soooo reputable!!!! AHHHH!!!

My mother and I both started smoking like chimneys while we were there. I was crying hysterically and I haven't picked up a cigarette since like 1992 but that's what planning a wedding is like. I can't wait until I am married and this he LL IS OVER!!!! I can got back to being normal again!

On a cautious note - my cousin had the same type of florist 'trust me - you can see it in your head can't you' 'don't worry I'll take care of you' blabla

the day of the wedding the flowers were HORRIBLE! She ordered an all white boo-k and he sent it with tons of PINK in it! He had to send another person to her house to re-do them! The bridesmaid boo-k's were falling apart before we got to the church and all the boutinniers (sp) fell apart. Let's not start with the centerpieces.

If I were you - shop around now and find a NEW GUY - you'll regret it!

Oh, Sept! Please, take a deep, deep breath and find yourself another florist! You still have plenty of time! You don't need to deal with this person you don't trust! My florist was my favorite vendor and the only one who didn't screw
up a single thing! I am so sorry you are having such awful time with yours!

I absolutelly loved everything about my flowers: my choppah was breathtaking, my centerpeces were gloriouse and my bouquet was everything i ever wanterd even though she never made me a sample, but secribed in geat details what it will look like! he convinced me to abandone some of my ideas and totally supported the others! She did all of it with great tact and was a lot of fun to deal with! So see, there are good nice florists outhere! Just wanted to tell you that nice story to cheer you up a bit!

Please, enjoy this time because when it's all over you WILL feel blue! Don't get aggrevasted with this guy, just delete him out of you life and make sure that your wedding prep time is a happy and memorable experience!

I'm really sorry to read you're dealing with this at this stage of the game. I too can't wait to be a wife, but think I will miss some aspects of the planning for a minute after the wedding is over. However, I won't miss dealing with vendors, definitely not!

Oh man, I'm using the same florist!! Who are you working with??? They brought out flowers for me the first time I met with them and started putting together colors I liked....maybe you need to switch the person you are dealing with?? They know my colors and my wedding is 8 months away! That's ridiculous they don't know yours!
I don't remember the guy we were working with but he was great! Let me know if you want his name!

I think you need to speak to the owner of the florist directly ASAP. If you are not satisfied and confident that they can do the job, then you should look into someone else. I am so sorry this happened to you.

I'm sorry to hear all the aggrivation this florist is giving you, Marisa. I too couldn't wait until the whole wedding ordeal was over. And I definitely don't miss the wedding and wedding planning garbage.

oh, Marisa, dont I know what you mean girl. With 24 days left to go, my biggest vent is the guests and not the vendors! If I have to chase down one more response, I am going to kill someone.

I keep going back and forth though, from cannot wait till the wedding us over to knowing how sad I will be to have it behind me. I am a total emotional basketcase, I actually got misty at the previews for the Charlotte Sex in teh City wedding That kind of behavior is so loco I cannot stand it

And get yourself a new florist. Thankfully the florist is not like the photographer, a good one can do lots of weddings at one time, and I think you are OK to book a new one. There is no reason to put up with that cr ap.

Hang in there girl, we are almost there! I was doing so well w. quitting smoking and am falling off the wagon myself, but I am not beating myself up about it. Whatever gets me through the next 3 1/2 weeks works for me!

I still have a little over three months to go and I am looking forward to it being over with. I feel as though my entire life has been put on hold...and forget the fact that I feel as though I have planned the entire wedding on my own.

I will be a much happier camper the day after the wedding...I'm with you on that one.

As for you florist, I would call up the owner of the shop and complain. Make another appt and get the service you are paying for.

Thanks ladies. Your responses made me feel better. I am actually dealing with the owner if you can beleieve that !!! The owner himself IS my florist!!!

I just called my physician for a prescription for a sedative!!! Can you believe it? This wedding is making me lose my mind!!! I cried for half the night, woke up, and cried some more this morning. I am a basket case.
