Captain Bill's and Timber Point

Captain Bill's and Timber Point

I was just wondering if anyone has any insight regarding these places.

I went to get prices on both of them for a Sunday afternoon in the months of April May and June in '09 and the difference was humungous...which I was surprised about because I've seen old posts on here where people say they are within the same general range. There was definitely about a $20-25 pp difference (Timber Pt being the lower priced one).

Thing is I really love Captain Bill's. So I guess what I want to know is-

What made anyone choose either of these places (especially people who looked at both) or NOT choose one...and if anyone has had any experience negotiating with captain bill's on their prices? Really any feedback on these places would help.

Thanks a lot!

Yeah it just makes it hard when they're both kind of offering the same thing...just with different scenery.

I was torn between these places as well. I loved Captain Bill's, but was unable to comfortably guarantee 125, which he was very firm on. So, I am getting married next August at Timber Point.

One thing to consider - are you getting married at a church or would you be getting married at the RH? We are having a church ceremony so this really didn't affect our decision, but I do think Timber Point is much more accomodating as a ceremony location than Caot. Bill's.

Either way, you can't go wrong! Good luck!

i really loved captain bills, i just thought it wasn't wedding material, i didn't get that vibe when i walked in, i got the vibe for like a bridal shower, christining, b-day , big party. it was very cheap, and the guy rushed me through the tour, so that why i i got turned off from it, but dont get me wrong it is ABSOLUTLEY Beautiful

Re: Captain Bill's and Timber Point

We decided on Timber Point!

We went and my FH was pretty much decided from the moment he walked in and fell in love with it.
He did not like the kind of trapped feeling you have at captain bills. You're in the building or on the deck and that's pretty much it. He's right. So...now we just need to book this week and I'll feel like I can relax for a while.

I am just glad he got to come out and see the places yesterday because if I had to wait a week mulling over this I would've gone crazy.

Thanks everyone for your insights- pretty much all of what everyone said just makes me feel more like we made the right decision
