I'm looking into Captain Bill's in Bay Shore as an option for our engagement party in September. We're looking to have about 100 people so the party would be in the Harborview Room. I'm looking for reviews and opinions from anyone who has been to or had a function there. Thanks!!

My FMIL has been to a number of functions at Captain Bills and she has rave reviews. We are considering it for our rehearsal dinner.

Captain Bill's in Bay Shore
One of my BM got married there two years ago (today is actually her anniversary and they are having dinner there tonight to celebrate). Her wedding was great, the place is beautiful and the food is good too! My only complaint, and this is totally minor, was that on the deck outside there were spots where the boards were far enough apart that my heels got stuck while we were having cocktail hour. I definitely recommend it!

We've had several family parties there. The food and service have always been great.

I went to a wedding there a few years ago, and I thought it was great. The only problem I had with it personally was that we had to literally walk through the main room to get to cocktail hour, and I'm just a fan of the room staying a surprise. Pretty minor, and for an Engagement Party, a non-issue really. Food was great, Room looks great, and I think they're very affordable.

This exactly. I think its perfect for an egagement party, but not a wedding. I looked there not knowing about the cocktail hour space & it was a deal breaker for me. Idon't want my guests seeing the room until it is time for the reception.

We felt the same way!!!
PS a place that may be cheaper that reminded me of the captain bill's layout was KofC in rocky point. you would have to bring in catering & decorations but it comes out really pretty! i was there for a sweet 16

I'm getting married there and you don't have to have the co Katie hour in the tent...I'm having it in the harbor view room and the other room in the restaurant
