I am going to check out Captain Bill's on Friday, and I wanted to know if anyone has any information about it. Are the prices good? How is the food? What is the decor like? How big is the room? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Captain Bill's in Bayshore
I am getting married there! Their prices are reasonable, it varies on time of year and day etc... It is one wedding at a time, small, intimate and elegant. It is right on the water with floor to ceiling windows and the food is AMAZING! but i am biased

I went there when we were looking and b/c I was have a small wedding 75 guests they wanted to shove me in some tiny *** room. The bayview house is only available for larger weddings. It was a January wedding and I felt they should have worked with us to make it happen. That was my only beef with them. It is a great location.

We looked there and got a quote of $105pp not including tax or gratuities for a Saturday night in Sept. or Oct. The food in the restaurant is pretty good but I've never been to any catered affairs there. Unless you are going to use the outside area for the cocktail hour I feel like there are a lot of other rh's that I liked better (we most likely were not gonna use it since we are October). If you are having a summer wedding and will use the outside I think its a pretty nice place. IMHO

Re: Captain Bill's in Bayshore
ive been to several weddings / events there. the food is always delicious and the bayview house is GORGEOUS and i love the setup of the room. There is a large bar that is in the main room, which i like bc you dont miss anything if you are at the bar.
my only complaint is that the cocktail hour isnt that great. they cram you into this little tented area and there isnt much food to choose from and you have to wait in line for a drink. also you walk thru the main room to get to the cocktail hour area so there is no surprise as to what your room looks like.

I went to an e-party there (it was a brunch, but still) a few years ago and I was very, very impressed. It's gorgeous, the food was amazing, service great.

I went to an engagement party there in April and it was spectacular! Best catering food I've ever had

Re: Captain Bill's in Bayshore
I've been to 2 affairs there, one wedding, one anniversary party, and the food is DELICIOUS. The entrees I've had there were better than 99% of other catering halls I've been to on the island, including some places that are double the price.
The CH at the wedding was smaller than the average, a pasta station, cheese station, and passed hors d'oeuvres, but I am not sure if thats the standard or this particular wedding chose that. I thought it was fine, but I also think most CH is excessive.
I would have had my wedding there, but I just don't like the ceiilng in the main room. But your guests will have a great time if you choose it! Especially if you do the summer.

I added some stations to my cocktail hour because I heard their cocktail hour can be light and it wasn't that much extra. It depends on how many people you have, i am having a small wedding so i think the cocktail room should be fine and since it is may i am hoping it will be warm enough to use the outdoor as well
