I haven't had a single complaint about my hall but this is confusing.......I should've asked. I'm an idiot.

It'll all sounds a bit stupid, but here you go...... (this comes from my wedding waitressing days)

Maitr'd - he/she is running the whole show
Captain - he/she is in charge of the waitstaff, and will usually help on the floor and in the kitchen - making sure food gets out on time, to the right tables etc...... concentrating on the food/restaurant aspect of the night, the Maitr'd is usually too busy supervising the event to be able to handle those details.

You shouldn't have to tip the Captain separately, I believe that should be part of the gratuity......But ask your RH and they can tell you.

Hope that made sense.

No problem!! I never realized how useful those 4 years of working weddings would be....until I started planning my own!! It always comes full circle.....

I just thought of the Captain and Tenille. They are the singing duo.

The same thing happened to me, and the person we met with for final details said that we should tip this 'captain' person separately....it is crazy.
