I need to buy a new car by this Saturday! We sold our jeep and they new owner will be picking it up then. I'm soooo glad to get rid of that huge gas guzzling beast!!! I want to buy a Honda Civic, year 2000 or newer. I want to try to spend no more than $7-8,000. We would need to be able to finance. Can anyone recommend good places for us to look, somewhere reputable???
I looked at Federal Auto Auction on Atlantic Ave We are thinking of going to Major World...

Honestly, although they might charge a bit more, I would look on the used car lots at Honda dealerships. This way you avoid the headache of typical used car places and usually you get some sort of warranty. Just don't go to Atlantic Honda in Bay Shore (FH's Civic Si was stolen from there when we took it in for service).

I bought my car from Enterprise Rent-A- Car. No haggling and I haven't had a problem with it in the past 3 years.
You can see if they have the Honda Civic and they're really good at staying in your budget. My little Dodge Neon came in $30 under budget.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO MAJOR WORLD. THE ARE LEGAL CON ARTIST. My Dad bought a car from there that I think he paid double for at the end of the day!!!! Try Paragon or Hillside Honda.

My friend is looking for the same type of car as you, she also had me come with her to the federal auto auction on atlantic ave. she really liked some cars there but i just got a creepy vibe from them. i think most of the cars there have been in accidents, just my opinion

Thanks for all the suggestions!! I know what you mean about Federal Auto Auction. The prices they gave me in person were much higher than the prices on their website. Also I don't like that they don't have the prices on the cars. They have a number and then they look in their booklet. Why is it so hard to buy a used car???? I feel like everywhere we look is trying to scam us.

No luck at Enterprise. No Honda's in my price range
Also I checked out the dealer's websites that you girls mentioned and unfortunately they are all pretty expensive too. ARGGGHHH!

nope she didnt buy anything yet. she wants a 4 cylinder, something gas efficient.. she also cannot find something in that price range at a ' real' dealership such as toyota, honda etc... now shes looking into leasing or financing a new sentra or corolla for around 200 a month. she changes her mind everyday!!

Bay Ridge Honda is a reputable dealer with many Honda President's Awards so good experience is a given because they care about their reputation. And they are resonable as far as prices go. I would not go to Major World. Also, Plaza Auto Mall, also in Brooklyn, is pretty good.
