Car people need help

What are your thoughts on the Jaguar S type?

I have heard that Jags are notorious for breaking down...i know this partly from experience but that was some time ago.

We are being offered this car 2002 and i was hoping for some feedback

My aunt has one, I think it's the same year - she has had nothing but problems with it.

I will ask DH bc he is a self-professed 'car expert'

But as much as I LOVE the look of a Jag, I hear nothing but negatives as far as their reliability, etc.

My FH loves them but he always says they spend more time in the shop than on the road. Sorry!

Also, I don't trust a car pronounced jag-you-wah

Love the look, but the maintenance could break you. If a tire goes it could be a $300 tire!

Years ago I was offered a one year old audi. I loved but realized that w/o a warranty I would be sunk.

Damn im always too late lol...Work has been keeping me busy...

I agree with everyone else here...Love the look but wouldnt buy one. My friend had leased one after she returned her Lexus and she didnt like it...so she actually had Jaguar take it back and she got a Chevy Envoy instead.....

The interior is ver small...especially the back seat.....Also reliability on these cars arent up to par...you are better off going with a Lexus or an infinity.

THanks Scott...

this was a good deal we were getting from a friend of my dads...we really don't have the money (we are saving every bit for our dream house ) to buy a car of that status.
I WOULD LOVE TO BUY AN INFINITI right now but that isn't in my future

Re: Car people need help

jags are hit or miss - it has to do with how they do things in England- i worked for Ford and tested our products on jags and they would screw things up all the time

jags are btter then they used to be in terms of amintenance but still need to get better - pices to fix them are gouign down as ford stream lines the parts between land rover, jag and lincoln (the one that the parts cheaper)

Well, I have no personal experience, but my uncle had a jag for a while and said that the old saying is true:

you have to be able to afford 2 jaguars, so you can drive one while the other one is in the shop....
