Dh and I went today to register at BRU and unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. We didn't realize that the store in Westbury was moving over a couple of stores next week, so things were a bit disorganized or missing..... we will attempt to try again next week, but I do have a question.
We are hoping to register for a car seat with 4 extra bases, one for each of us, and one for each grandma.
Should we register for a convertible car seat, the one where it fits infants rear facing and then when they get bigger, you turn it around? Can we get extra bases for those?
Or should we register for an infant seat with 4 extra bases? I feel this may be a waste of money if the baby grows out of it too soon.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Re: Car Seat help needed please.
I understand the extra base for DH but I think 4 is a bit much. I know you want it to be conveient but I would only do that if they would have the baby on a weekly basis.
As for the convertible I would get the same, one for you and one for DH. They dont have bases. They are all in one.
I know some people want to save some $$ and not get the infant seat but something has to be said for not having to wake a sleeping 1 month old!!

Re: Car Seat help needed please.
I had the infant seat that came witht eh stroller and then we got the convertible seat after the baby was born.. Yes, for the first few months its great not having to un-do them fromt he carrier... But depending on the size and weight of your newborn, the carrier can get REALLY HEAVY--REALLY QUICK!!! My son was born 10lbs, 5oz, and was heavy to begin with... it was much easier when we put him in the convertible.. and I LOVED my carseat.... If I can find the link to the seat I got.. I HIGHLY recommend it !! Good Luck and Best WIshes!!
