Am I the only one who's worried about leaving out my card box at the reception? I don't like those bird cage things or anything that can be easily lifted. Am I being freakishly paranoid that someone is going to steal money? Or do others feel this way?

Re: Card Box
i def agree, I have been bringing it up to FI all week and he thinks it will be fine. I have a card box but i still am worried. He thinks that b/t us and our parents someone will always be with them. I just feel like its not fair to the family to be holding it and watching them during the reception (if people dont wait till the end of the wedding to give it to us)

Re: Card Box
we are concerned, I guess you could say. My FFIL made a photo cube for us and he made it so you can't get into it w/out tools (or causing a big commotion!)

That's a good plan. I have no talent so I need to actually buy something. And everything I'm finding has too easy access. I hate to make someone mind it all night. But I don't want FH and I to have to watch it.

We bought one from ebay that you can't open unless you cut a string on the bottom. It's a tight string, so you would need to work at it. Not an easy task for someone trying to be discreet.

I don't know...I think it's a little over-protective. I can't imagine any of your guests (friends & families) walking away with the cardbox. I mean, what's to stop someone from walking away with the cards in a bag that your parents keep at the table or you put under your table?
I think the cardbox makes it harder to steal...it's a wooden larger item to walk away with.
I think it's a lot easier for someone to walk away with the bridal booty purse or a bag...a little conspicious IMHO.

I'm ultra paranoid and I trust nobody. Sorry! But I aggree that a big box is hard to steal. I just need to find a way to clamp it done like the other girls are doing.

I didn't mean you're overprotective (or paranoid) - I meant the box is more of a protection against it than in a bag...

Re: Card Box
I am worried, especially in something like a bird cage where people can see.
I got a little chest from Michaels that I'm going to decorate, cut a hole in the top and seal.
I'm not worried about my guests but, who knows who else might sneak in undetected.
I've been to a wedding where someone stole the bride and BMs wallets while they were taking pictures. They locked them in the room for the ceremony but, they were already empty by then.

Yeah, I know what you meant! But I am paranoid for the record. I can admit that. It will probably be fine and dandy but I worry about EVERY detail. I'm going to be such a joy leading up to this wedding.

Re: Card Box
I think a card box is more difficult to take than a money bag. Our RH set up the photo box on a table right near our table. We had no issues and all of the cards were safe in the box.
