Card box help, please.
OK...so I am going to attempt to make a card box even though I have no creativity in me. I've heard you can get boxes from the post office which I can do. Fabric..I'm guessing I can get at Michaels. Would anyone be able to give me some hints as to how to go about actually making it? What materials I will need besides fabric...glue or tape, etc. Are there any tips you wouldn't mind sharing? Thank you so much ladies!!

Re: Card box help, please.
I dont believe michael's sells fabric ... at least not the one by me .. your best (and cheapest!) bet is to go to the wholesale garment district .. its on 38-39 between 8-9th aves, there are stores up and down the street that sell only fabric, so you are sure to find one that you like or matches your BMs dresses.I just stacked the boxes ontop of one another and then I figured out where I wanted to cut out the whole for the envelopes. Once I cut that out, I individually wrapped each box and then I glued them together like a cake. Then I decorated them. Thats basically it ... I would use a glue gun instead of regular glue though (micahels). Also, if you dont want fabric you can use wrapping paper

Re: Card box help, please.
here is my card box
first i painted them like a off white color

then i cut the fabric (also purchased with a 1/2 off coupon at joannes) to the sizes i needed for the sides and tops
i got a fabric glue called SOBO then painthed that on with a foam brush in sections and made sure the fabric was flat and even
then i put a 1 1/2 ' or 2: ribbon (can't remember what size) around the tops

then decorated the bottom edges with some strings of pearls (they were from the $1 section of joanns i think i used 2 of them)
and the other little things around the opening.

i picked up a few of the funny cake toppers that will go on it when its set up since FH wanted them on the real cake and I said oh helllll no.

Re: Card box help, please.
i used a fabric glue called soboyou could prob get away with tacky glue but its a bit thicker and would be a bit harder to spread. I used a foam brush to basicaly paint the glue to the fabric. they do absorb a lot so squeeze it out often so you don't get too thick of a layer of glue.
