Card Box vs Money Bag

Which one did you girls use?

I can't see spending the money on a card box. I would rather use the money bag. It seems like it is less money

Oh the stress

I made my own cardbox

As for the moneybag I don't like them to easy to lose the cards. The wedding I was at where they had a moneybag the bride had it most of the night then gave it to her mom

Our card box was like $20 at Michael's. Not very expensive. We wrapped the one we bought with ribbon in our colors and tied a bow on it. I still really like it.

We were at a wedding tonight where they just took a box and wrapped it and cut a hole in it. So it kinda looked like a present with a hole in the top. Worked great. Very inexpensive. They just put it on the same table where people could leave presents if they brought any.

The thing about having a bag is that people may not know where it is and then they'll still give you or your husband the envelopes. Which is fine, you can always pass them off to whomever has the bag, but having a card box means it's a pretty self-sufficient process. Although even with a card box, people wanted to give us the cards in person.

I had both. When I was walking around during the cocktail hour people were just handing me cards left and right. I'm so glad I had the money bag and then when I went inside I put all of them in the cardbox that my mom made us.

I'm not a fan of the money bag (even tho DH & I are both Italian and it is a tradition)....I just think the cardbox has a nicer appearance.

I made my own cardbox....

I'm leaning toward making my own card box.

Typically, in the Italian tradition, the bride holds the bag

I am just thinking the bag would be easier then having to go over to the box every time someone gives me an envelope.

I have a feeling I will be using the hot glue gun the weekend before the wedding because I cannot decide.

Yeah... my grandmother was asking me about my bag (as she remembered making a rather large one for HER Brooklyn wedding in 1947!). I told her I'd use a box, and if people hand me cards, I will hand them off to my sister and she can put them in the box.

We just bought ours. We were going to make the photo frame one ourselves, but FH said after buying everything it will prob cost the same. They are on sale now, $20 less than before. Paid $60 plus shipping.

ETA: It would annoy me to no end carrying around a bag. If you don't mind carrying something around, other than your drink, while holding FH hand, and hugging people and stuff, then go for the bag. I feel like it would irritate me and I'm trying to avoid things that irritate me that day! LOL.
