Card Boxes

Ok, so I saw the card box that my RH gives us, and I really don't like it...
Soo.. I want to make my own.

First, how do I go about that...???

Second, I want blue and purple...where do I start?

Lastly, can you ladies all help posting pics so I will have an idea where to start all this??

THANKS!!

Re: Card Boxes

I bought my boxes at Michaels and AC Moore, I got my fabric at JoAnns. We used a saw (should I say my step father used a saw) and cut the hole in the top box and then the bottom of that box to the top of the next box, etc (if that makes sense). Me and my MOH put them together with fabric and decorated it. Probably took us 4-5 hours but it is amazing and I couldnt be happier that we did it ourselves. I have a photo in my album. (sorry its small in advance)

Re: Card Boxes

check out my cardbox in my album ... I would recommend going to the post office and getting the boxes for free (any size you want, you will need at least three) for the colors, you can either do wrapping paper or I got fabric .. go to the wholesale fabric district, you only need a couple of yards (it will be like 6-12 bucks depending on how fancy you get) and then you can buy trim or ribbon to put around it

Re: Card Boxes

You don't have to buy the boxes. I actually searched all over (even at work...note the corporate express box) for boxes that would fit my 'plan'. You can sketch what you want the box to look like beforehand.

Its still a work in progress but here is what I have so far.

Re: Card Boxes

Thanks ladies for all your help and ideas! This should be fun! My sis, one of my BMs offered to help since she is SUPER crafty! And, I love the idea of the Monogram being on top... I wanted to make our monogram, but I don't want it on the cake... so this will be perfect! Thanks again for all your help ladies!! It's greatly appreciated!!

If you'd like to get one of those monogramed letters for the top of your cardbox you can email [email protected] He will be able to hook you up with a wooden one for about $15 bucks and that is including shipping!
