I JUST saw this at AC Moore.. Its really pretty! ( I dont know if the pic copied, I am talking about the metal card box that looks like a gift) It super cute! BUT it is a little small,... I wonder if it comes in sizes... anyone know?

I'm definitely doing a cardbox because I dont want to carry around a purse or ask someone to collect for me. I think we are going to put it where the sweetheart table is.

i was a little worried that a card box was obnoxious or presumptuous (i havent really been to any weddings ... except one when i was 12) but i think its a good idea. better than a money purse.

i am in the process of making one (large) and it will match our colors. i have pix in my album. i hope it doesnt offend anyone and i hope people know what its for.

I love the box idea you posted. If I don't do something like that, I am going to look into a white birdcage. My friend an 08er got a nice one from amazon.

At the last wedding I went to, the bride and groom went around collecting the envelopes...I decided that I didn't want to have to do this and bought my card box already. The box I bought cant be opened unless it is torn apart. I dont want people to have to be confined to their seats until I pick the envelopes up or have to hold them while they try to eat and socialize. I'm going to put the card box on a stand next to our table.

We're doing a card box......I saw once at a wedding they had one shaped like a mail box, and I think kept it on the favor table next to the sweet heart table.

my mom's friend is probably going to make me a mailbox for the cards. she made one for my sister's wedding and it was really pretty. most RHs have a gift table where you can put a cardbox. i don't think it is tacky.

It was either on the news or on here... but someone did break into someones cardbox so yea, it def needs to be kept an eye on.... you just never know ... btw, i was just lookin at some and no ownder why everyone DIY's it... they are so freakin expensive!

Yeah they are expensive!!! I think I am going to make mine. I have been wanting to go to the fabric store but that will have to wait.

I saw this really cute idea at a bridal show.

It was a 3-tiered cake replica that had a slot on the top to put the cards in. Kinda like a wedding cake piggy bank.

I think I would like to do that. Either that or a crystal bowl, since I will be using those as centerpieces.

As long as you dress it up a bit, a card box is fine.

yeah i know what you mean but really whose gonna walk out with a big box without people noticing. At the end of the night I will make sure we take it with us to the hotel.


thats why i got a real big one bc who wouldnt notice somebody leaving with a huge box. It is scary though, my friend was at a wedding not long ago and somebody stole the couples WHOLE money bag every single envelope

the cardbox will be on a table next to us
