CardBox for Garden theme!
Ok so i should probably cross-post this in DIY but I do not have pics of the finished item yet. I know some other girls are doing garden themes so thought I would put my idea here. I am soooo psyched about it!
Ok so another member, Jkiesel, sent me an FM about these planters they sold at AC MOORE in the shape of watering cans-they are made of wood. They are on sale until the end of today for 20 bucks instead of 30. She suggested using it for a card box because I hate the generic cardboard ones and the wooden wishing well ones I loved were sooo pricey! 80+ bucks!
SO I bought one today-some random lady online slipped me a 50% coupon (GOD BLESS HER!) and the salesgirl gave me the price off the 20 bucks though technically she shouldn't have. With paint for the can, came up to 15 bucks! I am going to have my dad make a cover with a card slot in it fand attach it to the can with a hinge and a small lock. Its a bit shallow inside so we have to cut a hole (cant cut out false bottom completely because its what holds the things together) so the cards can fall to the bottom.
I am going to sand it down a bit, paint it white, seal it then decorate it with silk gerber dasies and ribbon. Its going to be soooo perfect for the theme! AND its a planter so after the wedding I can strip it if I feel the urge and use it outside.
SOOOO psyched! Thanks Jkiesel for the tip!
