Cardstock to make my pocketfolds arrived! Pics

Cardstock to make my pocketfolds arrived! Pics

Hi Ladies,

The cardstock for my pocketfolds arrived yesterday. I ordered textured eggplant colored cardstock from Anchor Paper Express ($46 including shipping) to make the actual pocketfold. They cut them to 7x20 inches and I have 210 pieces. I think that was a great deal considering they cut them to the exact size for me.

I also had sample paper sent to me for the inside of the pocketfold which you can see in the pics. I haven't tried printing on it yet. Assuming printing on the paper isn't a problem I will be ordering it from them as well. The paper inside the pocketfold is Stardream Antique Gold (for the backing) and Stardream White Gold (for the actual invite and inserts). Both of these papers have a very nice shimmer and sheen to them.

My camera didn't do the best job of picking up the colors, but the combination is beautiful.

(BTW I made my pocketfold w/ tents in the pocket, I think it ends up looking more professional this way

No problem. They dont have a wide variety of colors, but I'm sure since they do invites, they can order different colors. They also have sample invites out and I was getting different ideas from looking at them. I love that store!

www.anchorpaper.com ...go to the Express site. But I actually called them to order and worked with Shanda, she's great! She even told me exactly what day my paper was going to arrive.

I ordered the paper from www.anchorpaper.com (orderd from their Express store).

I actually made the pocketfold myself with the cardstock.

Tents are small pieces of paper that you use to connect the pocket for the pocketfold so that it looks a little more professional. I probably didn't explain that right. I learned how to do it from this knottie bio... http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/page.aspx?username=KateT#DIY%20Pocketfold%20Instructions

Awww...glad I'm inspiring someone. I was intimidated about doing it at first, but now that I started it's actually a lot of fun and easy! Just have to take my time and do it little by little.

BTW I've been using a Fiskars paper cutter I bought from an art store for $20 to score the paper. It also helped me to cut the paper that I used on the inside of the sample.

That color is nice. I want to do pocketfolds also. Are you going to design the outside with anything?

Yes I will have something on the outside...maybe a ribbon with a rhinestone buckle, or a ribbon with a monogram piece of cardstock as a tab to close. Something with a gold ribbon is what I'm thinking.

Any suggestions?? I'd love more ideas.
