I went to look at it. No offense to any ladies getting married there, it is beautiful, however my concerns were 1) The outdoor ceremony is on the blacktop parking lot 2) The downstairs cocktail hour has an outdoor deck that you have to exit the room from a door on the side of the building to walk in the alley onto the patio (strange) 3) You cannot see water from cocktail hour room because there is a fence because all the cars will be parked in the parking lot which is behind the building itself.
Sorry- this is just MHO

Re: Carltun n the Sound
Thanks I am still going to go look at it but I appreciate the feedback. Any other locations you can suggest that you love that were not TOO outrageous in price?

Re: Carltun n the Sound
I will agree that the space is not perfect . However, the rooms are nice and the staff has been very nice to work with so far.
Something to think about is that, depending on time of your event, it may already be dark by the time you have your cocktail hour.
(In our case, an outdoor ceremony was not of particular interest...if its nice weather there will be the beautiful backdrop of the water...no need to worry if its too hot or to cold)

I also went to see it because I wanted an outdoor ceremony with water. I was dissapointed with the gazebo area. Everything else looked pretty nice.

What are important features to you? What are you looking for? How many people? Any particular area? Nassau? Suffolk? Doesn't matter?

Re: Carltun n the Sound
I am going to have approx 220 - 230 I think!!! Not by choice, just 2 big famiies. I am looking in Nassau or western suffolk. His family is mostly from Franklin Square so I don't want them to drive too far. We are thinking April 2007
