Carltun or Hamlet Commack?

Carltun or Hamlet Commack?

I have been looking for a reception facility for almost 5 months now and still can't decide. I have seen 20 different places and have narrowed it down to Carltun or the Hamlet in Commack. I have heard great things about Carltun, but have heard just nothing about Hamlet Commack. We are looking at a Saturday night and Carltun can only start at 7pm, where Hamlet can start earlier since it is one functin per day. My fiance wants Oheka Castle, but I am unsure of it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've been to both. (as a BM). My cousin's wedding was at the Hamlet. Food & service were great. Her wedding had gone into an hour of overtime and they didn't even charge her! Beautiful bridal suite, beautiful indoor pictures spots (in case of rain).

I am a Hamlet bride & was exceptionally happy with the food & service there. But really, what I liked about it was how they treated us through the year. They treated us like family & accomodated us at every request we made. I went there BECAUSE it was not well known and would only have one affair at a time. I did not want a typical catering experience. They were negotiable about their price & head count & for what we paid we got a five star wedding! Our guests are still commenting on how it was an amazing wedding! Some people said .. best ever! So classy & elegant.

I don't know much about either, but we looked at The Hamlet. It was beautiful, they were very nice. I did not like that they said because it was a club house, they cannot restrict club members from entering my coctail hour. They said they usually don't, but can if they want. That is not why I didn't choose them, everything else seemed wonderful.

I'm having my reception at the Hamlet, and much like Christine, I chose it because its not a wedding factory and its a little different. I've heard nothing but wonderful things.
