Carltun Review very long
The wedding was very nice. When we first arrived the valet was very professional and opened the car door and properly greeted me. We were welcomed at the front door with a champagne welcome. The placecard table had a crazy big centerpiece with all hanging candles and intertwined cala lilles. The centerpiece was out of this world. The staircase was lined with lanterns filled with candles. I have to say the intial impact at the entrance was amazing.
We entered cocktail hour and it was packed not enough chairs for the amount of guests. My cousin had 240 guests and there were only 13 cocktail tables and some couches. There were tables outside but the chairs were iron and a lot of women myself included did not want to sit on a rusty chair in my evening gown. The food was in abundance, she upgraded everthing. She had a full raw bar, martini bar, sushi station, evey kind of food imaginable. I must say all the food was fresh and tasted very good. She a classical band playing at cocktail hour which was very elegant. My biggest complaint about the cocktail hour was they did not clean up all the used plates which was gross. I felt the service was lacking. Another thing was A door in the cocktail room was broken and the glass pain was all cracked and shattered which would of pissed me off.
When you entered the ballroom you had to pause. WOW. She used Pedestals for her flowers and it was out of this world. She had vintage candle stands on all the tables with very colorful flowers. The ceiling was done with all fabric and hanging candles. I have to say the florist out did themselves. I will get pics and post them. The dinner and service in the dinning room was very good. I love the fact that they served intermezzo in the form of a cone on the actual dance floor. The band was Alive and Kickin which was great had us partying all night. She used Wright studios for her pictures they seemed to have it all under control.
Her cake was beautiful, She had a dessert hour in the cocktail room. All the pastry was wonderful. I did not like that they did not serve wedding cake. Very few people ate the cake from the dessert bar. They also schould of had more stations with the amount of people at the wedding. She made a donation in the form of a favor which I think is a great idea because all favors tend to be junk to me.
All in all it was a great wedding. All you Carltun brides will have a wonderful wedding. I would just bring some of these observations to the catering manager.
Good luck, Angela
