Re: Carlyle Brides
We blocked rooms at the Huntington Hilton, because someone told us the bar stays open later than the Marriott (see where our priorities are). It's reasonable, I guess, $139 per night, Marriott was a little less (maybe $129. I'm considering staying somewhere else with my FH on the wedding night since I really wasn't impressed with the Suites.Hope that helps!

Re: Carlyle Brides
have been calling hotels all day. The weekend of our wedding--and yours 2005 Bride--there is a soccer tournament. You might be ok because they will be checking out on the Sunday. Anway--the Marriott is holding some rooms for us and I'm waiting to hear back from the Hilton. The Inn at Plainview--which will be the 4 Points Sheraton also has rooms and are 5 minutes away. They don't have a shuttle but might have one by then--they are being taken over by Sheraton now. Michael there was very helpful and he is a vendor on this site.
I was going to check the Inn at Fox Hollow too. Only other one we thought of was Holiday Inn at Plainview--they were reasonable but again don't have a shuttle

Re: Carlyle Brides
i was a little annoyed they didn't call us either. My father heard it on the radio and i called to follow up on it.i think vendors will be there. Sue-my banquet manager-said there is no charge but they will have passed food and it will be a cash bar.
I'm guessing all of the vendors they suggest will be there. It will be good to see who's there and what they have. And try the food!!
the tournament is all over Long Island--every hotel i've called has mentioned it to me. Maybe more so because i'm the Friday night.
But the Hilton had some rooms for us so I'm glad about that.

Re: Carlyle Brides
I stayed at the Marriott Mellvile- it was nice enough- we had a suite- they gave us champagne and chocolates- very cute...we left early in the morning though so basically we 'did the deed' and passed out!!!

Re: Carlyle Brides
they told me they have a lot of pictures of the cakes but to bring in things that you want and as long as it's not a lot of additional work they can do it without charge.the event they are having next week might be able to help answer that question.

Re: Carlyle Brides
We stayed at the Huntington Hilton and to be completely honest, I am a bit disappointed with them. We were promised complimentary champagne and continental breakfast and did not get it.There are new hotel(s) going up on the south service road at Round Swamp Road - I don't know when their dates of completion will be or even what hotels they will become; but it might be a consideration.
As far as the cake, I was told they will make anything, but will not do sugar flowers.

Re: Carlyle Brides
We chose the Fairfield inn in syosset (very close and cheap) and a rRamada inn in Queens because most of our guests wanted to be closer the city and still ahev soemthing on the cheap side.
