I honestly don't remember our dinner choices - but everything we tasted was fabulous. You can switch out sauces, sides, and meats.

We didn't have the sweetheart table - we had a round table with our bridal party (which was very small), and we sat in front of the doors because...

We had the band on the opposite side from us, by the windows. Honestly, no good reason - I think we just assumed that the risers didn't move, but we didn't ask.

Dessert cafe was in the cocktail hour room

We did have a pianist during cocktail hour.

No extra beer, we were pickier about the wine.

We did upgrade the cake.

I didnt even ask what wine they offer???do you rmember and what did you upgrade it to and was there an additional fee???

How many guest were at your wedding?

When we met with our coordinatior she said she would do whatever we wanted with the dessert caffe but seemed like she was pushing because of the number of guest (160) to have it in the reception room all lined up in fron tof the doors (the ones you -bride and groom- sit in front of ) She said that she feels too many people will leave to eat dessert in the cocktail room and then our recption room will look empty??? Not sure what to do, any suggestions are welcomed

The wine changes - when we booked it was one label, when we chose our menu, it was another. We went to taste the wines and decide whether we wanted to upgrade. We didn't absolutely love the wines (my dad collects wine, so we can be a little snooty here), but we decided not to upgrade. Instead, we were just very specific about which grapes we wanted served (e.g., for the label we tasted, we really disliked the pinot grigio, but the chardonnay was fine...).

Our wedding was big - 240 people (and of course I got stuck saying goodbye to all of them and missed dessert!).

I would say that your coordinator has a point about people leaving the room for the dessert cafe. I didn't really notice this at the time, but in pictures, even our ballroom looked a bit empty. On the other hand, the setup in the cocktail hour room is very nice, and for people who may want to take a break from the music, it can be a good place to be.

PS - you might want to FM me if you have more questions, only b/c I'm less likely to miss a post that way and wouldn't want to leave you hanging!

Dinner- chateua briand, napolean of chicken marsala with portobello mushrooms, & red snapper with some type of sauce..

Captain stations- the cheese & italian meat one, mashed potato bar (got REALLY great reviews), pasta station, carving station with ham & corned beef, hot seafood station and peking duck & dim sum station.

we were in front of the doors.

Band is in front of the windows- we had a 12 piece band- so it wouldn't have worked to have them any other place.

we had a jazz trio- we even sent OUR piano tuner to tune their piano.

no- we had yellow cake with canolli and chocolate cake w. chocolate mousse and it was amazing.
