Re: Carlyle on the Green?

My mom was obsessed with this place! I went to look with my cousin for their wedding, and I wasn't that impressed. Its a golf clubhouse so there were members walking around in their golf attire, and honestly, it smelled really funny!! Almost like a funeral home. I couldnt wait to get out of there! My mom tried to get me too look when we started but after that initial visit, there was no way!

My brother got married there in May. I think it was beautiful and the food was really good. People still rave about the dessert plate that was given out. .

The Caryle is beautiful. One of the nicest places to get married on the entire island. And guests from out of town will get a major kick out of the fact that it's located on a world famous golf course.

I'm getting married there and can't wait. It's the only place we looked at (we had eliminated other places based on being there for weddings thoug). I love the big square ballroom. It's so bright! And I love that they only do one wedding at a time. Are you having your ceremony there too? Oh, and I'm def choosing the molten choc cake!!!

nope.. i'm getting married in a church in valley stream.

i also like how they added the kenetic lighting to the walls. That's something that u normally have to pay extra for through other vendors but here it's included. They are also updating the curtains and everything which i don't think they need to.. but whatever! lol..

Yeah, I saw all the new curtain stuff a couple weeks ago. I agree that it's not necessary, but it will look nice. Are you definitely booked there?

I'm getting married there too. I haven't been there for a visit in months though. What are they doing with the curtains? I agree the curtains now are fine. Does anyone know of any more changes they are working on?

They are changing the colors. I think, if I remember correctly, to a maroon and gold pattern. Also, they are painting the wall of the room with the bar that has the doors to enter into the ballroom. That's going to be maroon with a gold/brown on the columns on the wall. Sorry for my poor descriptions. If you go, they have display boards set up with the new swatches.

Hmm, I wonder how that will look.... Might be kinda dark looking now. I also liked how the curtains in the ballroom were just that sheer white. I'm sure it will still be beautiful!

That was one of the top places we were considering. However we did not go with it. It is beautiful but just wasn't for us.

I don't think they're changing anything that's sheer. I think it's just the stuff that is already made out of the heavy material. I'm sure you could call or email and then can give you better details than I did.
